    1. cancer valrubicin

Valrubicin is a drug used to treat bladder cancer that does not respond to BCG (Bacillus Calmette Guerin). It is an anthracycline and is a type of antitumor antibiotic. Also called AD 32. Cancer is a term for diseases in which abnormal cells divide without control and can invade nearby tissues. Cancer cells can also spread to other parts of the body through the blood and lymph systems. There are several main types of cancer. Carcinoma is a cancer that begins in the skin or in tissues that line or cover internal organs. Sarcoma is a cancer that begins in bone, cartilage, fat, muscle, blood vessels, or other connective or supportive tissue. Leukemia is a cancer that starts in blood-forming tissue such as the bone marrow, and causes large numbers of abnormal blood cells to be produced and enter the blood. Lymphoma and multiple myeloma are cancers that begin in the cells of the immune system. Central nervous system cancers are cancers that begin in the tissues of the brain and spinal cord. Also called malignancy.

      • It`s possible to assume that, specialty pharmaceutical company Endo Pharmaceuticals (100 Endo Boulevard, Chadds Ford, PA 19317, (610)558-9800) engaged in the research, development, sale and marketing of branded and generic prescription pharmaceuticals used to treat and manage pain, overactive bladder, prostate cancer and the early onset of puberty in children, or central precocious puberty (CPP), today announced the availability of valrubicin (Valstar) for the treatment of a distinct form of bladder cancer. Bladder cancer, cancer that forms in tissues of the bladder (the organ that stores urine). Most bladder cancers are transitional cell carcinomas (cancer that begins in cells that normally make up the inner lining of the bladder). Other types include squamous cell carcinoma (cancer that begins in thin, flat cells) and adenocarcinoma (cancer that begins in cells that make and release mucus and other fluids). The cells that form squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma develop in the inner lining of the bladder as a result of chronic irritation and inflammation. Generic, official nonbrand names by which medicines are known. Generic names usually refer to the chemical name of the drug. Prescription is a doctor`s order for medicine or another intervention. Prostate is a gland in the male reproductive system. The prostate surrounds the part of the urethra (the tube that empties the bladder) just below the bladder, and produces a fluid that forms part of the semen. Prostate cancer, cancer that forms in tissues of the prostate (a gland in the male reproductive system found below the bladder and in front of the rectum). Prostate cancer usually occurs in older men. Bladder is the organ that stores urine. Puberty is the time of life when a child experiences physical and hormonal changes that mark a transition into adulthood. The child develops secondary sexual characteristics and becomes able to have children. Secondary sexual characteristics include growth of pubic, armpit, and leg hair; breast enlargement; and increased hip width in girls. In boys, they include growth of pubic, face, chest and armpit hair; voice changes; penis and testicle growth, and increased shoulder width.

      • Evidently, the purpose of this study is to observe and describe the effectiveness and local tolerability of intravesical treatment with valrubicin for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) in a cohort of subjects treated under routine practice conditions. Cohort is a group of individuals who share a common trait, such as birth year. In medicine, a cohort is a group that is part of a clinical trial or study and is observed over a period of time. Intravesical, within the bladder.

      • As an example, valrubicin is administered to a patient with bladder cancer in a therapeutically effective amount to kill or damage cancerous cells. Depending on the severity of bladder cancer, valrubicin may be administered in an amount ranging from about 200 mg to about 1000 mg once a week over a course of two to eight weeks. The therapeutically effective amount can be readily determined by the attending doctor, as one skilled in the art, by the use of known techniques and by observing results obtained under analogous circumstances.
