      • It`s possible to observe, at first base (i.e., basis, or basement), the causal connection (i.e., connexus) was denied, and the appearance of the osteonecrosis was explained by the higher incidence of osteonecrosis already associated with cancer patients, namely, radiation (i.e., radiatio), chemotherapy, special medications as steroids, infections of dental or sinus origin, dental procedures, anaemia, and local anaesthesia with vasoconstrictors. Sinus is a cavity (i.e., cavitas, or cavernous space), space (i.e., spatium), or channel in the body. Examples include hollow spaces in the bones at the front of the skull (i.e., cranium), and channels for blood and lymph. Sinuses may also be found in the heart (i.e., cor, or coeur), brain, and other organs. Chemotherapy, treatment with drugs that kill cancer cells. Incidence is the number of new cases of a disease diagnosed each year. Radiation, energy released in the form of particle or electromagnetic waves. Common sources of radiation include radon gas, cosmic rays from outer space, medical x-rays, and energy given off by a radioisotope (unstable form of a chemical element that releases radiation as it breaks down and becomes more stable).

      • It`s possible to presume that, osteonecrosis (ON) of the jaw as an adverse bisphosphonate event three cases of bone metastatic prostate (i.e., prostata, or glandula prostatica) cancer patients treated with zoledronic acid. Acid is a chemical that gives off hydrogen ions in water (i.e., aromatic water) and forms salts by combining with certain metals. Acids have a sour taste and turn certain dyes red. Some acids made by the body, such as gastric (i.e., gastricus) acid, can help organs work the way they should. An example of an acid is hydrochloric acid. Acidity is measured on a scale (i.e., squama) called the pH scale (i.e., s????rensen scale). On this scale, a value of 7 is neutral, and a pH value of less than 7 to 0 shows increasing acidity. Zoledronic acid is a drug used to treat patients with hypercalcemia (high blood levels of calcium) caused by cancer. It is also used together with other drugs to treat multiple myeloma and to prevent bone fractures and reduce bone pain in people who have cancer that has spread to the bone. It is a type of bisphosphonate. Also called zoledronate and Zometa. Prostate cancer, cancer that forms in tissues of the prostate (a gland (i.e., glandula) in the male (i.e., masculine) reproductive system (i.e., genital system) found below the bladder and in front of the rectum). Prostate cancer usually occurs in older men. Prostate is a gland in the male reproductive system. The prostate surrounds the part of the urethra (the tube (i.e., tuba) that empties the bladder) just below the bladder, and produces a fluid that forms part of the semen (i.e., seed, or seminal fluid). Metastatic, having to do with metastasis (i.e., secondaries), which is the spread of cancer from the primary site (place where it started) to other places in the body. Metastasis is the spread of cancer from one part of the body to another. A tumor (i.e., neoplasm) formed by cells that have spread is called a metastatic tumor or a metastasis. The metastatic tumor contains cells that are like those in the original (primary) tumor. The plural form of metastasis is metastases (meh-TAS-tuh-SEEZ).

      • It`s possible to conclude that, to estimate the frequency of osteonecrosis of the jaw in cancer patients who do and do not use bisphosphonates, researchers evaluated information from a large U (unit).
