Preview- It is obvious that, most physicians believe that combination chemotherapy (administering two or more drugs) is most effective for breast (i.e., mamma, or teat) cancer patients because combination therapy has been shown to provide better cancer cell control with lower (i.e., inferior, or lower tubercle) doses of individual drugs. Breast cancer, cancer that forms in tissues of the breast, usually the ducts (tubes that carry milk (i.e., strip, or lac) to the nipple (i.e., papilla mammae, or mammilla)) and lobules (glands that make milk). It occurs in both men and women, although male (i.e., masculine) breast (i.e., mamma masculina, or mamma virilis) cancer is rare. - It appears that, tumor (i.e., neoplasm) cell heterogeneity in response to the potentially cytotoxic/antiproliferative effects of cancer chemotherapeutic agents has been the stimulus for a current novel approach to combination chemotherapy. Tumor is an abnormal mass of tissue that results when cells divide more than they should or do not die when they should. Tumors may be benign (not cancer), or malignant (cancer). Also called neoplasm (i.e., new growth, or tumor). Response is in medicine, an improvement related to treatment. Cytotoxic, cell-killing.
