Preview- For instance, role of systemic therapy (i.e., therapeusis, or therapia) in the development of lung (i.e., pulmo) sequelae after conformal radiation (i.e., radiatio) therapy in breast (i.e., mamma, or teat) malignant neoplastic disease patients. Therapy, treatment. Systemic therapy, treatment using substances that travel through the bloodstream, reaching and affecting cells all over the body. Lung, one of a pair of organs in the chest (i.e., pectus) that supplies the body with oxygen, and removes carbon dioxide from the body. Breast, glandular (i.e., glandulous) organ located on the chest. The breast is made up of connective tissue (i.e., interstitial tissue, or supporting tissue), fat, and breast tissue that contains the glands that can make milk (i.e., strip, or lac). Also called mammary gland (i.e., glandula mammaria, or lactiferous gland).
- It`s apparent that, to analyze the risk of radiogenic lung damage in breast cancer patients after conformal radiation therapy and different forms of systemic treatment. Breast cancer, cancer that forms in tissues of the breast, usually the ducts (tubes that carry milk to the nipple (i.e., papilla mammae, or mammilla)) and lobules (glands that make milk). It occurs in both men and women, although male (i.e., masculine) breast (i.e., mamma masculina, or mamma virilis) cancer is rare.
- It is clear that, the systemic chemotherapy for advanced colorectal cancer is the use of combination therapy with 5-FU/LV (preferably infusional 5-FU) with oxaliplatin or CPT (Phlebotomist (CPT))-11. Systemic chemotherapy, treatment with anticancer drugs that travel through the blood to cells all over the body. 5-FU is a drug used to treat cancers of the breast, stomach (i.e., gaster, or ventriculus), and pancreas, and certain types of colorectal and head (i.e., caput) and neck (i.e., cervix, or collum) cancers. It is also used in a cream to treat basal (i.e., basalis) cell (i.e., basilar cell) skin cancer and actinic keratosis (i.e., senile keratoderma, or senile keratoma) (a skin condition that may become cancer). It is being studied in the treatment of other conditions and types of cancer. 5-FU stops cells from making DNA and it may kill cancer cells. It is a type of antimetabolite. Also called 5-fluorouracil, Adrucil, Efudex, Fluoroplex, and fluorouracil. Chemotherapy, treatment with drugs that kill cancer cells. Colorectal cancer, cancer that develops in the colon (the longest part of the large intestine (i.e., bowel, or gut) (i.e., intestinum crassum)) and/or the rectum (the last several inches of the large intestine before the anus (i.e., anal orifice)). Oxaliplatin is a drug used with other drugs to treat colorectal cancer that is advanced or has come back. It is also being studied in the treatment of other types of cancer. Oxaliplatin attaches to DNA in cells and may kill cancer cells. It is a type of platinum compound. Also called Eloxatin. Colorectal, having to do with the colon or the rectum. Combination therapy, therapy that combines more than one method of treatment. Also called multimodality therapy and multimodality treatment.
