Preview- It seems that, the 4`-O-benzylated doxorubicin (i.e., adriamycin) analog WP744 overcomes resistance (i.e., hormone resistance) mediated by P-glycoprotein (i.e., p-), multidrug resistance protein and bosom cancer resistance protein in cell lines and acute myeloid leukemia cells Tracy A Brooks. Acute myeloid leukemia is an aggressive (fast-growing) disease in which too many myeloblasts (immature white (i.e., albicans) blood cells that are not lymphoblasts) are found in the bone marrow and blood. Also called acute myeloblastic leukemia (i.e., leukemic myelosis), acute myelogenous (i.e., myelogenetic) leukemia, acute nonlymphocytic leukemia, AML, and ANLL. Myeloid, having to do with or resembling the bone marrow. May also refer to certain types of hematopoietic (i.e., hemopoietic) (blood-forming) cells found in the bone marrow. Sometimes used as a synonym for myelogenous; for example, acute myeloid leukemia and acute myelogenous leukemia are the same disease. Leukemia, cancer that starts in blood-forming tissue such as the bone marrow and causes large numbers of blood cells to be produced and enter the bloodstream. Multidrug resistance, adaptation (i.e., adjustment, or equilibration) of tumor (i.e., neoplasm) cells to anticancer drugs in ways that make the drugs less effective. Acute, symptoms or signs that begin and worsen quickly; not chronic. Glycoprotein is a protein that has sugar molecules attached to it. Analog is in chemistry, a substance that is similar, but not identical, to another. P-glycoprotein is a protein that pumps substances out of cells. Cancer cells that have too much p-glycoprotein may not be killed by anticancer drugs.
