CAT scan is a series of detailed pictures of areas inside the body taken from different angles. The pictures are created by a computer linked to an x-ray machine. Also called computed tomography scan, computerized axial tomography scan, computerized tomography, and CT scan. Scan is a picture of structures inside the body. Scans often used in diagnosing, staging, and monitoring disease include liver scans, bone scans, and computed tomography (CT) or computerized axial tomography (CAT) scans and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans. In liver scanning and bone scanning, radioactive substances that are injected into the bloodstream collect in these organs. A scanner that detects the radiation is used to create pictures. In CT scanning, an x-ray machine linked to a computer is used to produce detailed pictures of organs inside the body. MRI scans use a large magnet connected to a computer to create pictures of areas inside the body.

      • You can conclude that, the only pictures the trial jury WERE allowed to see were taken of Little Josef at the hospital, most taken hours after his death. Those photos included blood pooling (liver mortis), dried blood from eczema scabs being opened, marks on his body from the straps from airlifting and transportation from EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) and two hospitals, tape marks, shot marks, in addition to any marks caused by CPR (Customary, Prevailing, and Reasonable), breathing assistance, and CAT (Computerized Axial Tomography) scan work. His body also showed the results of his chronic eczema and the continual scratching he was plagued with. Tomography is a series of detailed pictures of areas inside the body. The pictures are created by a computer linked to an x-ray machine. Technician is a person trained in the techniques (methods) and skills of a profession. For example, a mammogram technician is trained to perform mammograms. Chronic is a disease or condition that persists or progresses over a long period of time. Eczema is a group of conditions in which the skin becomes inflamed, forms blisters, and becomes crusty, thick, and scaly. Eczema causes burning and itching, and may occur over a long period of time. Atopic dermatitis is the most common type of eczema. Blood is a tissue with red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and other substances suspended in fluid called plasma. Blood takes oxygen and nutrients to the tissues, and carries away wastes. Liver is a large organ located in the upper abdomen. The liver cleanses the blood and aids in digestion by secreting bile.

      • It would appear apparant that, what is a CAT Scan? A CAT Scan (CT) uses special x-ray equipment to obtain image data from different angles around the body, and then uses computer processing of the information to show a cross-section of body tissues and organs. X-ray is a type of radiation used in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and other diseases. In low doses, x-rays are used to diagnose diseases by making pictures of the inside of the body. In high doses, x-rays are used to treat cancer.

      • It has been discovered that, while X-rays can reveal a mass inside the human body, a 3-dimensional reading from a CAT scan can reveal the size, depth and exact location of the same mass. 3-dimensional is a graphic display of depth, width, and height. Also called 3-D. Mass is in medicine, a lump in the body. It may be caused by the abnormal growth of cells, a cyst, hormonal changes, or an immune reaction. A mass may be benign (not cancer) or malignant (cancer).
