      • It`s possible to observe, the aim of this study was to compare the folate status measured by red cell folate (RCF) concentrations in breast cancer and control patients, and to relate this to levels of DNA damage in both groups. Cell is the individual unit that makes up the tissues of the body. All living things are made up of one or more cells. Folate is a nutrient in the vitamin B complex (i.e., sequence) that the body needs in small amounts to function and stay healthy. Folate helps to make red blood cells. Blood is a tissue with red blood cells, white (i.e., albicans) blood cells, platelets, and other substances suspended in fluid called plasma (i.e., blood plasma). Blood takes oxygen and nutrients to the tissues, and carries away wastes. It is found in whole-grain breads and cereals, liver (i.e., hepar), green vegetables, orange juice, lentils, beans, and yeast. Folate is water (i.e., aromatic water)-soluble (can dissolve in water) and must be taken in every day. Not enough folate can cause anemia (a condition in which the number of red blood cells is below normal), diseases of the heart (i.e., cor, or coeur) and blood vessels, and defects in the brain and spinal cord (i.e., medulla spinalis, or chorda spinalis) in a fetus. Folate is being studied with vitamin B1 (i.e., thiamin)2 in the prevention and treatment of cancer. Also called folic acid (i.e., lactobacillus casei factor, or liver lactobacillus casei factor).

      • It`s possible to observe, inheriting one abnormal ATM gene (i.e., factor) has been linked to an increased rate of breast cancer in some families because the abnormal gene stops the cells from repairing damaged DNA. Abnormal, not normal. Describes a state, condition, or behavior that is unusual or different from what is considered normal. An abnormal lesion or growth in or on the body may be benign (not cancer), precancerous (i.e., premalignant) or premalignant (i.e., precancerous) (likely to become cancer), or malignant (cancer). Gene is the functional and physical unit of heredity passed from parent to offspring. Genes are pieces of DNA, and most genes contain the information for making a specific protein.

      • It could seem to be apparant that, from the breast cancer DNA screening, you will know no matter (i.e., substance) whether you indeed inherit the mutation and the estimation of your risk of building the cancer. Screening, checking for disease when there are no symptoms. Since screening may find diseases at an early stage, there may be a better chance of curing the disease. Examples of cancer screening tests are the mammogram (breast), colonoscopy (i.e., coloscopy) (colon), and the Pap test (i.e., papanicolaou smear test) and HPV test (cervix (i.e., neck, or cervix of uterus)). Screening can also include checking for a person`s risk of developing an inherited disease by doing a genetic test. Mutation, any change in the DNA sequence (i.e., anomalad, or complex) of a cell. Mutations may be caused by mistakes during cell division (i.e., divisio), or they may be caused by exposure to DNA-damaging agents in the environment. Mutations can be harmful, beneficial, or have no effect. If they occur in cells that make eggs or sperm (i.e., sperm cell, or spermatozoon), they can be inherited; if mutations occur in other types of cells, they are not inherited. Certain mutations may lead to cancer or other diseases.
